SEAWIND and IBERDROLA become partners for offshore wind projects in Poland

• Seawind Holding is a company of the Fritz Kaiser Group, which has a significant portfolio of offshore wind projects in the exclusive economic zone of Poland in the Baltic Sea.
• SEAWIND will develop this project portfolio with a potential of up to 7.3 gigawatts together with the Spanish energy company IBERDROLA. For this purpose, Iberdrola has acquired a 50% share package of the Polish project companies from SEAWIND. The closing of the transaction took place on December 16, 2020, in Warsaw.
• IBERDROLA is the number 1 producer of wind energy and a leading global energy company. SEAWIND and IBERDROLA have already cooperated in Germany for the project “Baltic Eagle”- a 476 megawatt project

SEAWIND, together with partners, has developed an extensive portfolio of early-stage offshore wind projects off the coast of Poland in recent years. The portfolio of these renewable energy projects has a capacity potential of up to 7.3 gigawatts.

IBERDROLA has acquired 50% of the Polish project portfolio from SEAWIND and the two companies will jointly develop these projects in the future.

SEAWIND’s new partnership with IBERDROLA provides the Spanish energy company with significant access to the Polish energy market, while at the same time enhancing the potential of the projects through IBERDROLA’s additional capabilities.

SEAWIND had already successfully developed in the past with IBERDROLA the 476 megawatt “Baltic Eagle” project, which will provide green electricity for up to 1 million households in Germany in the near future.
